ACTION!!

Once upon a time, in a castle in the South of Italy, lived a wonderful girl, her name was Bianca Lancia.

She was tall and slim, with long and blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes; her skin was milky white and she had a velvety voice.

She was a kind and very clever girl, but she had also a strong personality

One day she was having a walk with her company ladies and she was picking up thistles , the flowers she mostly loved, when she heard a noise: a man on his white murgese horse, followed by his guards, was moving along the path in her direction.

Bianca immediately recognized in that man with a crown on his head and a long black and red mantle the Emperor Frederick II….but…. he was so dirty and ugly!!!

Frederick stopped his horse in front of her and greeted her nodding his head while his guards announced the Emperor.

Bianca: “ Hello!”

Frederick: ” Hello! How are you?”

Bianca: ”I’m happy”

Frederick: ” Happy? Why?”

Bianca: ”Because I like picking up flowers with my friends”

Frederick: ”What flowers do you like?”

Bianca: ” I like thistles”

Frederick: ”Where do you live?”

Bianca: ”I live over there”

Frederick: ”Who is your father?”

Bianca: ”My father is Bonifacio I from Agliano, the Lord of the Castle”

Frederick: ”How old are you?”

Bianca: ” I’m 16. And you? How old are you?”

Frederick: ”I’m 25”

Bianca: ” How are you?”

He had been haunting wild boars all the day, he was tired, hungry, cold, sad…so he replied: ”I’m hungry, I’m sleepy, I’m thirsty, I’m dirty, I’m smelly…”

Bianca smiling said: ” You need a place where to clean and eat. Would you like to come to my father’s castle?”

Frederick: ” Yes, thank you. What’s your name?”

Bianca: ”My name is Bianca Lancia. And what’s your name?”

Frederick: ”I’m Federico II, I am King of Germany, King of Scilly, I am the Holy Roman Emperor; I am the Wonder of the World!”

Bianca looked at him for a while then she said: ” OK. But… you don’t look like the Wonder of the World! Are you sure to be the Emperor? You are so ugly…and dirty…and you are smelly! You need a bath!!! Come with me!”

Frederick was going to reply: “I’m just returning from the hunt… it has been raining all the time…” but he was unable to say anything more… that girl ..so kind but so shameless…..had enchanted him. He had fallen in love with her at first sight.

“Come on Sire” said Bianca smiling “ My father will be happy to welcome you in his house. There you will be able to have a bath and to eat a hot meal”

“Show me the way!” Frederick said

“This is the way” replied Bianca and they walked together towards the Castle followed by the Guards and the Company Ladies.
